Our sector is subject to very strict requirements regarding the environment. Rietlanden Terminals is proud to report that it fully complies with these. Rietlanden Terminals shows respect for the living environment and environment in all of its processes.
Dust Control
Rietlanden does everything it can to prevent dust pollution in its surroundings. In that respect, Rietlanden Terminals possesses an advanced Dust Monitoring System so that measures can immediately be taken in the event that dust pollution occurs. Furthermore, the roads and quaysides at the terminal are continuously sprayed with water to quell the dust, and crust-forming materials are used on stock lying in storage. We are currently working on spraying solutions (binding of PM10) during loading and unloading activities.
Water Purification and Waste Disposal
The terminals have their own water purification plants that enable clean discharge and reuse of water. Waste is separated and recycled where possible. Office waste (cartridges, batteries, computers, etc.) are also recycled and where possible, given a second life in relevant development projects.
